Your online presence is what people think about you based on what they can find out about you online.
This could include what shows up when they Google you, your social media profiles, and your website (if you have one).
So who would be checking up on you online?
A potential employer, client, or love interest might check you out online when deciding whether or not they want to hire you, work with you, or date you.
So yes, even if you don’t have your own business or side hustle and love your 9-5...you still need to make sure that what Google says about you, is what you want people to think about you.
To figure out what someone might see when someone checks you out online, I recommend doing a digital audit! A digital audit is a quick checklist you can go through to make sure your online presence is what you want it to be.
I have a podcast coming out next week that will walk you through how to do your own digital audit. Be sure to subscribe to The PrettyAF Podcast on your...
I used to set goals and when I achieved them I didn't feel how I thought I'd feel. I thought I'd be happy and excited but I often felt the same as I did before achieving the goal.
Have you ever felt that way?
This happens when we choose the wrong goals to focus on.
To choose the right goals, I like to follow this simple goal setting exercise.
I created a podcast episode walking you through this, which can be found here.
Here's how to choose the right goals.
1 - Rate your current life.
For each of the areas of life below, you're going to give each one a rating of 1-10. One being it can't get worse, and 10 being it couldn't get better.
A vision statement is a written down version of what you want your life to look like and why you want it to look like that. Creating a vision statement is one of the first things I walk my 1:1 clients through because once you're clear on what you want, you just need a plan on how to get there.
In this episode of The PrettyAF Podcast, I walk you through step-by-step how to create your own vision statement.
If you listen to and follow along with the instructions on this episode, you'll walk away with your very own vision statement! Having this in writing is so powerful because it'll always be there when you need it. When things are getting difficult, you'll be able to pull out your vision statement to remind yourself of why you're doing what you're doing and where you're headed. It's also really neat to look back and see how close to reality your vision statement now is.
If you want to speed up the process of making your vision statement a reality, book a 90-minute...
You can use visualization to take the first step into your dreams. Grab a pen and paper or use the notes app on your phone. Set the vibe with some music, candles, or whatever makes you feel like your best self. Read each question, then close your eyes and visualize your answer. Then write down what you visualized so you don’t forget and can look back at what you visualized at this moment. You’ll be amazed at how close to reality the things you write down today will be in the future. Okay, let’s get started. Make sure you’re in a comfortable and quiet space so you won’t be interrupted.
My heart is so heavy right now.
I can't just write a marketing tips + tricks blog post and pretend like nothings going on in the world.
Between COVID-19 and police brutality...people are dying or they're jobless.
People are desperate and they've been pushed too far for too long.
If someone destroyed what I've built over the past few years in my business...I'd be devastated.
But I can't even imagine the pain someone must be going through to do that.
I've been through trauma in my life but I'm not going to pretend that I've been through anything even close to what some people in this country have to go through on a daily basis.
I see the oppression that many people have faced their entire life simply for the color of their skin.
But I'm not going to pretend that I understand how you feel or could ever understand it.
But I'm going to try.
I want to amplify your side of the story.
What do you want white people to know? What do you wish we would do? What do...
On social media, hashtags are one of the best ways to reach more people that are your ideal clients or customers. It's free, and with a little research, you can target your perfect customer. Let's dive into everything you need to know to make the most out of this feature.
A hashtag is a pound sign (#) followed by a word. For example "#puppies" or "#AzaleeMaslow". Hashtags are used on social platforms to help users find the content they're looking for. They can also be used to enter into contents ran by brands.
Hashtags are going to help you reach more people that are interested in your content. Ideally, if someone is interested in your content, they'll be interested in your products or services as well.
Yes! If no one looked at hashtags, social platforms wouldn't continue to use them.
No! Besides...you shouldn't be...
You’re busy, I’m busy, we’re all busy...so how are you supposed to show up every day on social media for yourself (personal brand) or for your brand?
Blogging, social media, emails, sales pages...it’s all a lot of work. And TIME-CONSUMING! So how can you get it all done? You don’t want it to take all your time...you have a business to run. Here are my top 5 tips to consistently show up for your online presence without it taking up ALL your time.
For someone that has a course teaching people how to use social media for business (The Digital Academy of Social Media) and has a social media agency (The Babble Boutique), it probably seems odd for me to tell someone NOT to be on social media. But I’m a fan of using social media to help grow YOUR BUSINESS. NOT to look popular or anything else. And you can’t use social media to grow your business until you have certain things in...
It’s October so it’s a spooky time! Deciding what you want to be for Halloween is hard and deciding what you want to do for your career is even harder!
Maybe you have a full-time job and are working on a side hustle that you’re hoping you can turn into your full-time gig. Or maybe you have a passion for multiple things but aren’t quite sure how to balance them or to become successful in all of them.
If either of these scenarios sounds like you, this post is going to provide you with a clear path of how to balance your passions.
First off, know you don’t have to turn EVERYTHING you love into a business. I LOVE pilates but if I taught pilates I think that would ruin how it relaxes me and helps me escape. So don’t try to make a profit on everything. Really think about what it would mean to turn something you love into a business and decide if it’s worth it!
We always forget how hard it was.
We are so strong and we’ve been through so much that it honestly just makes it easier to forget how hard things were.
But when we’re teaching others how to do what we did...we need to remember that. When we’re telling others about our success we can’t forget all the struggle we’ve been through to get there.
Too many people are painting a fake picture of how easy their success has come. They forget about the struggle they’ve been through or don’t want to mention it.
But people need to hear it because when they’re struggling they don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. They think that it’s always going to be like this because they only see your highs. Why do people only show their highs? It’s not relatable...at all. But sometimes honestly, we just forget.
I have been coaching musicians and small business owners on their digital media presence for the past few years and I...
